Bristlenose Catfish eBook

Keeping and Breeding Bristlenose
by Douglas Green

Bristlenose Catfish eBook

When I first got serious about keeping Bristlenose Catfish (aka Bristlenose Plecos) and in particular breeding them, I started searching the internet for information.

I already knew Bristlenose were regarded as easy to care for and breed but I’d already decided that it would be much easier just find the best information I could right from the start.

You see as you get older you learn that things are rarely as simple as some try to make out. So over the years I’ve found that a little bit of research and a whole lot of knowledge can save quite a bit time and effort, especially in the long run.

Anyway to cut a long story short I came across Douglas Greens eBook and just went ahead and bought it. You know you can spend a lot of time searching through endless web pages trying to scrape together all the information you need and then trying to decide just what is credible and what is not. So in the end I decided to save myself the hassle and just make the purchase.

So was it any good I here you ask? Well I thought it was. The information contained within went from covering general care and feeding all the way through to breeding. The breeding section was quite extensive and covered everything from selecting and conditioning Bristlenose, to triggering a spawn, egg and fry care and even how to go about selling your fry.

The thing that really attracted me the most was the author was quite experienced and his credentials stacked up.

I also really liked the fact it covered things that I probably would never have thought of searching for in the first place. Keeping Bristlenose in planted tanks and their effect on plants, keeping Bristlenose with other fish and how Bristlenose can have an effect on some fish while some fish can have an effect on the Bristlenose.

So just in case you’re wondering here’s a list of what’s contained inside . . . . .

Bristlenose Pleco

Is It Bristlenose Pleco or Bristlenose Catfish???

Have Your Ever Wondered What the Difference Actually is Between a Bristlenose Pleco and a Bristlenose Catfish?

Well it’s simple really, Bristlenose Pleco is simply just another name for Bristlenose Catfish. Therefore if you’re familiar with searching  for information on the internet (as I’m sure you are) you’ve probably already noticed how many things are given different “common names” in different parts of the world.

So if you live in Australia you are more likely to attach the word “Catfish” to Bristlenose whilst if you’re from the USA, Canada or the UK you’ll probably use the common name Bristlenose Pleco instead.

Therefore if you’ve come here looking for information about Bristlenose Plecos then you have indeed come to the right place.

The Bristlenose Pleco is an extremely useful fish due to it’s efficiency as a very effective algae eater. They are also one of the few algae eaters that won’t slacken off over time and show a preference for other foods.

Baby Bristlenose Plecos

My Baby Bristlenose Plecos are just a few days out of their cave and have already gone to work cleaning the side of their Breeding Tank. The Bristlenose Pleco is just such a fantastic Algae Eater.

Bristlenose Plecos are also reasonably easy to breed as well. It’s because of this, plus the demand for them within the aquarium industry (due to the popularity of the Bristlenose Pleco) there is an opportunity for fish keepers to take up the hobby of breeding Bristlenose Plecos and actually turn their hobby into a profit making venture.

Having said that though, how successful you may actually become will definitely depend on how knowledgeable you become and how well you do your research. Quality information is the obvious answer, as things will go wrong when you leave your outcome to chance.

When I first went in search of information about the Bristlenose Pleco and in particular breeding them, I came across an eBook called Keeping and Breeding Bristlenose by Douglas Green.

Douglas is a long time Bristlenose breeder and a moderator on Therefore I thought it was quite rare to find someone who was so well qualified in a topic to actually go ahead and write an eBook about it. Normally some of these eBooks are just thrown together by someone just trying to make a fast buck, but not in this instance.

After I purchased it and read it I could tell Douglas was the real deal as the Bristlenose Pleco information was just first class. Therefore if you just want to keep Bristlenose Plecos I’d recommend it and if you want to Breed Bristlenose Plecos then I’d definitely suggest you get you hands on it.

It is very well written and the information is first class.

So go ahead and check out Douglas Green’s eBook on the Bristlenose Pleco, it’s guaranteed and I’m certain you’ll be more than pleased.
